French Press

Purpose:

  • This coffee maker uses the pressure of the plunger being pushed to the bottom to separate the water and beans. This makes the flavors more concentrated overall.

Parts:

  •  Lid-
    • Fits onto the top of the beaker
    • Covers the beaker
  • Plunger-
    • This is what the filter is attached to
    • It is pushed to the bottom and realeases the coffee to the top
  • Filter-
    • The filter is pressed to the bottom of the beaker
    • This is why the french press is called french press
    • It pushes all of the grounds to the bottom and separates the grounds and the water
  • Beaker-
    • This is what holds all of the grounds and water
    • It makes it easier to pour the liquid
  • Base-
    • The base is made from plastic, metal, or ceramic
  • Handle-
    • This is what you hold the beaker with
